Am I doing it right?

I know to watch for wet nappies etc... pooing. . you know the drill. But due to a delay in my milk coming in I've had to supplement with formula. I offer the breast first, both sides, and then if he's unsatisfied, a 50ml bottle.

So now I have milk...... I can just ditch the bottle, and monitor the situation right? I'm not engorged yet but milk flows when I'm in the shower. Now is the time supply and demand will be established right? so the bottles should go bye bye about now..... yes?

I fed for 2 days round the clock on demand (back to back at times for hours). I'm just unsure if I'm doing it right. so far I'm going by instinct.

Feed, feed, feed and you shall see If you're concerned, you can try giving smaller top ups, or just more breast time (sounds like you're on that, you already know the drill )

I was feeling the same way last week. I've been doing the same & after offering both boobs & bubs is asleep expressing to stimulate.

I knew my boy was getting enough as he was gaining weight.

You're definitely right to ditch the bottles now. Just keep doing what you're doing. Like Arimeh said, if in doubt, whip it out.

When DD2 was on top ups I did what you are doing, feed both sides then if still hungry offer top up and then express to help stimulate supply and gradually as my milk came to the party she stopped being hungry after a feed and top ups were ditched. I did over do it a bit though, because of the contant feeding and pumping around the clock I over stimulated my supply and when my milk did come in it was in overdrive and it was a bit much for her little tummy and she was an unhappy baby So don't go too far the other direction and over do it!
