    Question Anti depressants and BF?

Can you take Anti depressants and still continue to BF? The Dr has told me I can still feed on the one he has put me on but the info pack says not too....I am not ready to go cold turkey on DS2 and he wont cope either

Please tell me there is a way??????

I would also recommend calling Rodney Wyte at Monash medical centre. He is AWESOME. He has given me so much advice on BF'ing and pregnancy and taking all sorts of meds. He is so approachable and lovely on the phone. Nothing is a hassle for him. Do call, it is totally worth it.

you can also call Mothersafe hon on ph: 1800 647 848 they will also tell you what category it is and if its safe. I BF'd on Ciprimil (20mg daily) which was ok but if I had to up it to 40mg a day I was told to stop BF. Hope this helps. xxx

    Hi,

follow your doctors advice. Knowing you are breastfeeding he would have prescribed safe medication. Most medications are safe to take when breastfeeding. However, what you see on the product information clause in packet is a "cover your a*** statement".
