    Smile Breastfeeding Bras

    Hello!
Can anyone tell me if wearing an underwire bra while breastfeeding is uncomfortable, bad for the boobs, or anything else?
I find maternity bras with no underwire incredibly unsupportive.
    [Why don't they have underwire?]
    Let me know

They are not recommended while breastfeeding - I think they can cause problems with blocked ducts? I know even tho I am down to two feeds - my boobs are sore after a few hours in an underwire bra. I found very few bras supportive either. My fave is the Intimo Maternity Bra - but its a "party plan" type company.

Anything that puts pressure on your breasts - such as wire in a bra or a too tight bra - can contribute to the risk of blocked ducts. This can happen during pg or while bfing so it is recommended that you don't wear underwire bras to avoid this. When I was pg and first bfing there was a distinct lack of decent maternity bras but there are lots of different styles now. Have you had a look at the hotmilk range at all?

I'm currently living in a *very* supportive and extremely pretty non-underwire Hot Milk bra. The band around the ribcage is like 4 inches wide!! I'm an FF in this brand/style though.

I have an underwired 'Cake' brand bra here too, its a soft underwire and is not as good a fit as the hot milk one but is good enough and also looks pretty. When you have boobs my size, you take anything you can get.

Both are MUCH nicer than the hideous beige monstrosities I lived in for my last two babies - first time pretty bras didn't exist, second time I was simply too big to fit into the pretty bras that *were* available and the one or two styles in that size were dead boring.
