I've not noticed chocolate with DD as I only eat it sometimes, at night, but I think coffee is an issue here. I can have one cup but any more seems to agitate her.
I haven't noticed any changes in Mack after eating chocolate, sorry not much help.
We're getting through the mastitis, even my let down has come to the party! Just one thing, noticed today (started taking my mastitis antibiotics yesterday) that Mack has a lot of little pimples on his face. Could this be from my medication? I don't think they were there before yesterday.
Teirae, bummer. So hard to see them uncomfortable. I guess you could see how things go without the Milo, if it makes a difference? Maybe she has a random upset tummy or her little belly is still getting used to digesting...? It's difficult to narrow down, I know. Hope she's feeling better soon.
Netix, do you ever react to ABs yourself? Another possibility is a hormone rash - my DD had one that came and went for the first six weeks or so...
T, there are lots of possible reasons. They do change, all the time. Wonder weeks, developmental changes, phases of the moon, mums can literally run themselves ragged trying to figure out the magical 'recipe', but very often it's just time that sorts it out.
Somtimes mums just 'know' that there's something else going on, so it's good to trust your instincts. If you suspect chocolate, then cut it out and see, maybe? Anything more drastic than that and I'd suggest speaking with a dietitian.
Lots of babies get little rashes - is it the normal baby rash or somethign else?
So DD has her first cold and it's a nasty one. She's gurgly and snuffly and has a mucous cough and is so very cranky. She's fussy on when she will feed at the best of times so today has been a disaster. She's only fed at 6:30am, 11:30am, a small top up at about 12:30-1. She did have another feed in the morning but threw it back up. Any tips? Should I be worried? I took her to the doctor yesterday and there's nothing serious though her symptoms are worse today. No temp
I dont know... that is just the only thing that i've done differently, and i guess its something i can control... but really you wouldnt think something that small would cause this big a deal/change. maybe she is wonder weeking...just at a different time to the magic chart. Its just so heart breaking not knowing whats wrong and not being able to make her feel better =(
her feeding has changed too, she isn't feeding as much, but i know she is still getting enough cause she is refusing when i reoffer, so im not worried about that (yet =P)
It's extra confusing in the early weeks because they change so rapidly and frequently.
I don't know your baby, so I certainly can't tell you, but just bear in mind that sometimes it's not something you've done or something you can change, it just is as it is.
Re intake, watching the nappy output is the best way to keep track.
LL - poor baby! It's really hard when they are sick. do you have a nose sucker thing?
LL often they complain when sucking it out but if you can use it they're great. Ds1 wouldn't let me as a bub; ds2 has let me a few times, but often I just squirt the saline solution up there and that seems to help.

Another one who doesn't have problems with chocolate. Lucky coz that was one of my lifelines in the early days. My main issue was onion, gave my DS bad tummy cramps. And anything spicy or garlicky.
They are all individuals and sometimes go through changes at different times. The first 3 months are the most difficult with their guts, as they take a little while to fully mature. But it does get better.
My DS still has issues with dry skin and pimples on his cheeks. I think its a combination of things: breastmilk, snot, drool and having to get his faced wiped 100s of times in a day. Found using curash oatmeal moisturiser daily improved it.

Just wanting to introduce myself quickly and sub in here as I'd like to join. I'm a new mum to a gorgeous little girl (3 weeks today). I'm exclusively breastfeeding and hoping to have a long and successful breastfeeding journey
Just wanted to share a very funny BF dream with you (i have lots of feeding dreams probably because it is still a bit all consuming at times). I live in the country and we don't have an ABA group active around here but there is a lady who is a LLL leader who runs a breastfeeding support group at the women's community centre. I've been thinking about going along. Anyway I had a dream last night that I went and they made me feed all the babies. I was exhausted! They kept telling me how great my supply was ha ha.
Buffy1; No, I haven't reacted to antibiotics before, but I haven't had this particular one before.
Had the two week MCHN appointment this morning. Apparently Mack has lost ten grams since the last weigh in! Have no idea how, as he has been putting it back on since we left hospital, and feeding ALL DAY yesterday (definitely velcro baby!). And apparently (I didn't know this), but having mastitis makes the milk taste different to bubs. At least that explains why he wasn't 'enjoying' his feeds on the right side (the affected side) yesterday.
So we have another weigh in on Friday morning. And my mastitis is not improving yet. And the MCHN told me to go and see a dr as I still have abdominal pains.
Oh Netix that's no good. Hope the doctor will sort things out for you. Did the nurse offer an explanation as to why your Velcro baby would have lost weight?
Hi Dantri!
So bubs still sick today. In good spirits *most* of the time and feeding is ok- her appetite is off but she's still feeding about 5 times in a 24 hour period. Except she just threw up a feed before, poor little girl.
