    Question Breastfeeding and dental work

I have to go to the dentist tomorrow Last time I went was about 6 months ago for the usual check and clean. Dentist said I needed a filling but would not do it then as I was pregnant with DD at the time.

So, I was wondering if they will do the filling this time or should I ask them to postpone it? Will having a local anaesthetic affect my milk or pass through to DD?

Go ahead and have that filling done. It's perfectly safe while you are breastfeeding.

I would think that the only problem while pg is the x-rays they would have to do. All anaesthetics are local, so won't affect bfing. I've had a tooth implant and numerous other complicated dental and orthodontic work done while bfing. Plenty of needles involved and no effect at all on bfing... Actually, I didn't even think to ask!

Ouch! Hope it doesn't hurt too much.
