See, that's where they need both! Some for you, and some for me that don't leave oodles of floppy fabric around my midsection and somehow manage to constrict the girls at the same time

just dropping in here for a little woo hoo - we've now been BF for two and a half years (and one day!).

so happy to have made this point. some days it's only one or two feeds (morning and night), sometimes more. DD was sick a couple fo weeks ago so feed were pretty much all she had for three days. the engorgement in the days afterwards meant it was ME asking her to feed!

Yeah i know in a couple of months i won't be so keen to have tops with bumps when i don't have one.

Congrats BG! When DD is sick, i love breastfeeding even more cos i know she is taking in the good stufff.

Hey just wanted to pop in and say DD is 10 month old and we're still breastfeeding. Although she is having 1-2 bottles a day, she's still have 4 or 5 breastfeeds as well. I am in two minds now, I am so ready to wean. We have never had a pain free feed, ever and my period recently returned and ever since my nipples are even more sensitive. Plus my aversion is getting pretty much at crisis point these days. Every feed I am just waiting for the first oppurtunity to pull her off. On the other hand though, I am so close to my 12 month goal now... so very close I can almost touch it. So I don't know what to do... regardless I am glad to say we have reached 10 months... it just sounds like so much longer than 9 lol.

Just popping in now I'm back into bfing land after our 20 month odd break.

I'm a lot less leaky this time around, but right in the midst of that awful milk-just-came-in-two-days-ago engorgement. Sleeping last night was really unpleasant, since I could only lie on my back and got quite uncomfortable. My milk came in a bit quicker this time too.

DD2 is feeding beautifully and only takes a few minutes to finish a bf. After DD1, who took about 45 mins each time as a newborn, I am in shock. She's got heaps of wet and/or dirty nappies so I know she's getting plenty. But I'm not getting any extra TV time! This time I'm not really paying any attention to when and how often she bfs, just whenever she opens her eyes and starts looking at me. She hardly cries (well, I guess she doesn't have much of a chance) and I'm using a sling atm constantly.

She can take a couple of goes to attach properly, but that is probably because her tiny mouth is currently dwarfed by my poor exploding bbs.

Nawww... Imogen looks so cute! In both!

Engorgement is heaps less for me this time around and my bbs have settled down already. I am not leaking as much either. One of my m/ws suggested that might happen this time around and she was spot on. I had a brush with a blocked duct yesterday and felt really off by the evening. I took a couple of anti-inflammatories, fed through and felt much better this morning.

Hannah is a great quick feeder and is weeing and pooing like a champ. She'll be weighed at my 7 day m/w visit tomorrow and I think she's heavier than her birth weight already. I'm just amazed that we're spending time cuddling and gazing at each other because the feeding bit is done in less than ten mins. It's special, nb feeding again.

Sounds like you're both doing beautifully Jen! I didnt leak at all second time around.

I'm glad the engorgement is almost over! It's a tough few days on the boobies.

I'm still trucking along on my anti-candida diet so I can keep feeding. It's challenging me a bit at the moment because I have finally been symptom free for a few weeks, but even a small sugar intake causes me breast pain.

I have also had a bad run of block ducts, always in the same spot caused by the same bra (which is now in the bin!)

I found an electric toothbrush held onto the sore spot really helped (last time I ended up at the physio fir ultrasound treatment, but the toothbrush was suggested by someone here on bb).

D'oh! How could I get that wrong?? Sorry!

Great night last night, H is feeding heaps during the day and didn't wake between 11.30pm and 5.30am. She started grunting and wiggling around 3am and I offered her a bf, but she just pooped and went back to sleep. She makes more noise about pooping or passing wind than when she's hungry, funny baby!

Well my booby pig has put on 250 gms in her first week. I knew she was efficient but I didn't realise how much!

I had another blocked duct this morning so I asked my m/w (who's also a naturopath) if there's something homeopathic I could take to help. At least this time around I'm aware and able to manage it quickly. But I don't want to have to resort to anti-inflammatories regularly.

I'm trying so hard to support someone I don't even like very much with her supply problems (over Facebook of course ), and everyone else is telling her to just "go the bottle, that's what they're for"! Grrrrr... I've offered every solution I can think of, including to links to the ABA, and the next reply said something about how it's too hard, she'll end up using bottles anyway Oh well, at least I tried and she knows I'm there to talk to, even if we're not best of friends... I didn't even know she was breastfeeding until today, it was a pretty big surprise
