    Can a breast explode?

Because it sure feels like mine is about to. DD2 has started to wean herself off the breast. Very happy to have gone nearly 13month after DD1 self weaned at 9 months. She stopped the day feed about 2 weeks ago and has now stopped wanting a before bed feed. So in the morning when she has a feed there is SOOOO much milk that she can't empty both sides. Now my left breast is choccablock full.

I have had a shower this morning and expressed a little in there. Should I just be expressing to take the fullness away?

I should add, I do know my breast wont explode

you need to express a bit to soften it up. don't just let it be full. your supply will adjust within a few days, probably, but you need to relieve the fullness in the meantime. Just express enough to soften it and remove lumps if you don't want your supply maintained

Ah the sweet relief of a 5am BF Thanks ladies. Hopefully it wont be to much longer before Lefty realises whats going on now. Righty seems very clued up though so I only have the one to worry about. Atleast DD2 did not want to stop BF every feed all at once.
