I ended up buying some rite aid 40 in a box for $6.
With my first baby I used Pigeon breast pads and they were excellent. Not long before I weaned I discovered the Rite Aid ones. They were identical to the Pigeon pads and a lot cheaper.
I've used the Rite Aid pads this time right from birth and even when I've been overflowing with milk, these pads have been great.
Fully recommend them ;)
Thanks for that tip Fiona I'll make sure i get to the shops that have a Big W at them if i don't get to go i will show DH the box and get him to go it would be fun to see what he comes home with LOL
Please can you guys list for me all the brands of breast pads you know of.
I am going to try and get some samples of each to see which I am allergic to and which ones are ok.
Thanks heaps :)
just moving to the breastfeeding forum.......
Cloth -
avent
lilypadz
Disposable -
Pigeon - come in gold and standard - my brand of choice
Avent - have little nipple lumps so you look like you're high beaming, the adhesive isn't very effective and they stick out too much for my liking
Johnson & Johnson - like avent only worse
Dove - Like J&J and Avent
HTH.
If allergies are an issue you might be best with cloth, especially after your supply has settled in and you're not so leaky as in the first few weeks - maybe if you put a thread in the nappy forum some of the clothies might have brands they can recommend.
For cloth breastpads google it! There are heaps about.
theres also disana cloth ones as well.
I was using Pigeon, but as shannon said the sticky bits annoyed me too!!
The only ones I liked were rite aid and pigeon... I refuse to wear anything that gives me the saucer look. I never ever used the sticky bits though... rite aid is basically pigeon just $2 cheaper and you get twice as much!
*hugs*

i dont use the sticky bits as they never stay in the same spot anyway.....or maybe its just me? hehe
Rite aid would be great value..but they are the ones im allergic too :(
sticky bits are useless. i like the j & j ones but with the ivory quilt. come in pink box. don't bunch up and fold over. quite padded so comfy.
Tommee Tippee do cloth ones too, not too bad but do give you bit of a raised look....but if you'd like I can post you a pair? I have three and don't really use them anymore.
Lilypadz were good except when I took them off all this built up sweat would literally run off them. And they wouldn't stay stuck around the edges of them. Give your boob a nice smooth shape though. They're a bit expensive so I got some off a US ebay shop for about $28 aussie.
I'm using Swaddlebees brand cloth ones that I bought from the WeeWuns online store. They're comfy but not so good if you're a heavy leaker ;)
I just used the ones from Woolworthes i think they are Homebrand. They were great and so much cheaper!
I love the Johnson ones (purple and white box). Yes they have that little nipple indent but I just poke it in and then you can't see it through clothes.
I like the size of them and also that they do not come folded. The Pigeon ones do and the crease in the pad shows through clothing. I also found them itchy.
I don't bother with the sticky back. I never use it.
I found the pigeon breast pads terrific :)
Hi guys
I have been finding the disposable breast pads have been irritating my boobies and I was wondering if anyone knew of a good alternative?
Thanks in advance
Belinda.
