    Colour of Breastmilk

Ok I have been thinking about colour today when I expressed mine was blue not blue tinged but blue. I was watching a friend express today she had her 3rd baby friday night at home but this is the 1st one she has had problems feeding. He has grazed and cracked her nipples hence the expressing of milk. Her milk is yellow like a bannana milkshake we were joking about and saying how when she was going to the Drs later for his check some old lady is sure to tell her off it is so yellow.
What colours of breastmilk have you seen or have you only seen the white stuff.
P.S She made me all clucky and want to have a homebirth poor DH

I'm guessing hers would've been so yellow because it is still transitioning from colostrum. I remember mine being like that for a little while after my milk first came in. After that it varied, from really creamy to thin and watery with a blue tinge - depended on the time of day.

Mine was once green! No joke, i freaked when i saw it but apparently some foods can change the colour (and of course i immediately posted on BB to make sure it was okay LOL)

I've seen heaps of different colours ( I'm a midwife)- green, blue, red, brown, pink, all shades of yellow. Apparently they're all ok!
