I have some EBM defrosting in the fridge at the moment... and I'm just wondering, (because it's probably going to take more than 24 hours to fully defrost) Would you start counting the 48 hours that you're meant to use it once it's defrosted from the time that you pull it out of the freezer and stick it into the fridge OR from the time that it has actually fully defrosted?
EBM defrosts pretty quickly. Just let the cold tap run over it or stand in cold water - it will go back to liquid pretty quickly. Or just pop in the fridge - it won't ake 24 hours.
Remember when you defrost it the "cream" will have risen to the top, it may look like it's separated into layers - just give it a shake to blend it all back together.
When I was working at a SCN fully defrosted EBM was 24 hours in the fridge, so I think we counted from the time it was fully defrosted. Does that make sense?
