Does anyone routine feed?

I did feed Jim on a routine but at the same time I was somewhat demand feeding, when he was fed properly I could set my watch by him feeding every three hours.

It sounds like you are doing all you can.

Like I said earlier I feel a Lactation Consultant is best placed to offer advice when things get a little more complex, rather than other health workers.

TBH in the time I comp fed, I felt I did six months worth of nipple stimulation :ROFL:

i feel abit better now, i had to put the computer down and walk away for a while .. lol..

the last 2 feeds i fed her for 15 mins each side, made a formula bottle and she spat it out. i dont actually think she drank any. i then expressed and had hardly anything left in my boobs, so at least i know she drained them.
she hasnt woken up hungry either - still getting woken up at feeding time so again, at least i know shes not hungry.

i am doing the right thing for my daughter, i need to believe in myself a bit more.

Alish, I think you're doing great! I have more than enough milk for DD, and when I have expressed the most I get is 70mls...

I had my Child & Family Health visit today, DD is weighing in at 3.6kg (was 3.33kg at birth just over 2 weeks ago), and that is on 7, or sometimes only 6 feeds in 24 hours.

Just remember babies are all different, and they are still learning what to do this early, so if you've found something that works for you, and your DD is filling nappies, is happy & sleeping well, then stick with it!!! I guess my advice is just to be open to change if needed further down the track, which I'm certain you'd be bound to do!! :D
