    Breastfeeding Bras/Top Sizing

    Hi,

It's only early days yet but my boobs are growing considerably already.

I'm usually an 18DD or 16E but am wondering what size I should buy taking into consideration when my milk comes in.

    Any advice/recommendations?

    Ta!

Buy one size bigger - and then if necessary a couple of bras another size up if you end up even bigger (but that would only be for a couple of months - then things settle down). Get the stretchier ones (there are a couple of F-cup maternity bras with no stretch in the cups at all out there - they may be fine after you've been feeding for a year, but they're not want you want early on). Maternity bras tend to have lots more hooks in the back, so they can deal with variations in back sizing. The sizings are also a bit different for different companies. The Elle Macpherson ones run a little smaller than the triumph ones.

I'm normally a 16D and ended up in a 20D by 9 months. I lost so much weight though that I am now finding my old 16D is right for band size but I need more like a DD cup.

I wouldn't recommend the hot milk brand either. I am finding that they just can't support the weight of my boobs now that I've got heaps of milk.

So my recommendation would be to buy the minimum you need as you go along and then once your milk supply settles go bra shopping again. I've wasted so much money

    I'd maybe get one or 2 in a size up, but my engorgement 3 & 4th time around only lasted 2 - 3 days. Wasn't the 2 - 3 weeks the first 2 were.
I never got any bigger than normal through pregnancy so I sadly naver have the problem of trying to figure that out...

    Cool.

    Thanks for the advice ladies

I can remember with Briley I went up to a 22DD but with Colby my milk settled pretty quickly after she was born.

As its been a while since I've had full on milk supply, its hard to say what my boobies will do this time.

I think ill just get a decent bra to last me through pregnancy and do what lulu said and go shopping again after babe is born!

    Thanks again girls!
