Excerising & low calorie, fat eating and breastfeeding.

    Hi,
I have recently had my 4th daughter by c/s (1st c/s by the way) and I now have a little muffin top that I have never had b/fore over the scar. Now... I have also found out that my cholestrol is high. I'm also diabetic type 2. My question is has anyone had any issues with a low supply after starting excerise , losing weight and/or eating a low fat/calorie diet. I dont want to give up breastfeed but at the same time dont want to take any medication to lower my cholestrol either.
    thanks
    Kerri

    Hi,

It is really normal for mothers to store fat during pregnancy, and the fabulous thing is that these stores are used up naturally whilst breastfeeding. If you follow just a healthy, normal diet, you will burn off calories. It is largely a myth that you can't breastfeed and diet. In this country, even those amongst us who are dieting consume more calories and do less activity than most women in the world who breastfeed their children.

Just today my Australian Breastfeeding Association e-newletter (worth it's weight in gold!) contained a link to the following diet and weight loss while bfing article on the ABA website - it's fabulous
