is it just me or does it feel really good when your child drinks your breast milk, and i am not talking cognitively, emotionally or spiritually but physically. DD2 is almost 2 years and i recently cut her down to one a day (actually very early am to get a few extra hours sleep out of her). well she has been sick and so i let her have it a few extra times during the day and overnight. now that she is better i am starting to back it off again but just before when i was giving her a little drink i thought... this feels good. LOL i think it is the reason why i havent weaned her properly earlier and why she is still going!
Yes, it's supposed to feel good! When you breastfeed you get a dose of oxcytocin, which is that fabulous love hormone - you get it when you have a nice meal with friends, a massage or a cuddle or an orgasm. It makes you feel fabulous. You also get a dose of endorphins and CCK which make you feel relaxed and happy. It's normal to breastfeed for 2 years and beyond - no cutting down is necessary.
