Getting as much info as i can

i have posted this in the ask an expert section but thought id ask here too:

I've never been able to breastfeed due to poor attachment, lack of supply etc and some call me crazy that im determind to make it work with twins when I couldnt with just one. But is there anything I can do now to make sure I have a good supply, make sure I know if they are attached properly before my nipples become cracked and bleeding.
Does nipple size/shape effect breastfeeding and if so is there anything i can do to help this, a shield maybe?
Any pointers will be great. I just want to be able to say I could do it, my babies were breastfed until they wanted to stop and Im very uninformed about breastfeeding so thought the earlier I learn hopefully the better our chances are of success

The best information I can give you is to contact the Australian Breastfeeding Association and see if they run BECs (Breastfeeding Education Classes) in your area - these classes give you lots of information and are a great asset, I wish I had been able to go to one prior to DD being born.

I second the ABA suggestion! Also, you need supporters - make sure DH and your family are supportive of BF and aren't going to say "I'll help you and give them a bottle". If you go to the classes, take DH with you.

Good for you and wishing you the very best of luck, I hope it all goes well for you. Breastfeeding is a challenge but it's oh so rewarding. Every other day I'm assailed by seeds of doubt but I keep going and will keep going until DS weans himself.

I mean to add that I only fed DS1 for about 8 weeks - I received little or no support to continue.

The minute DS2 was born my lovely (supportive) DH insisted that he was placed against my breast so he could feed (hahaha!!! bubs that is ... NOT my lovely husband!!)
