8 month old wont take bottle or sippy cup - HELP!

    Hi
DS2 has just started at childcare 4 days a week as i am back at work
he wont take a bottle or sippy cup - EBM or formula....
so at this stage i am going up every day to feed him... it is ok but not sustainable and prob not great for his settling in
we have tried a variety of bottles and cups - he wont take for anyone (DH included)...
    any advice welcome please!!
as per my other post he also doesnt have any interest in solids... so he is v reliant on BF... (and i am up all night feeding)...
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

    my son was the same...

He would NOT take a bottle until I found some faster flow nipples that were for 1yr olds+ and they "let down" the milk much quicker so he could drink at the same flow as bfeeding...
he started on a sippy cup at 12 mths.
he was great with puree and solids so i dont really have advice there. maybe try different types/brands and flavours
My son is still breastfed at 16 months and very demanding. Not sure how im going to get him off the breast lol

Is he having trouble physically with taking them or just not liking taking them?

They wont starve themselves, although we are scared they will, if they require it eventually if there is no other option given then they will take it, just unfortunetly there may be some tears in the process.

Have you tried maybe introducing them a little at home where he is most relaxed and have you tried a straw cup? Cups and bottles with the leak proof valves can be very difficult for them to learn to drink from, I removed all the valves and DD learnt alot easier. We started with the cheap takentoss sippy cups which you can get with straws to.

the closer to nature ones were the ones that DS1 eventually took... but no such luck with J...
i bought some glass plain bottles and Y teats n(all v simple/cheap) and this is what we have had the most success with so far. he tok about 120ml of EBM today (over aboput 3 feeds....). I expressed 2 times at work today so have about 220ml for him tomorroiw so the girls will try that.... lucky they are so great at the centre and he seems to slowly be adjusting to it.
i just cant keep going up to BF him (though i will if i have to of course)

Hi dd won't take a bottle either. But will take water out of a sippy cup. Have you tried the' Nuby grip and sip'? dd can't get anything out of a bottle but finds this cup very easy (shes 5 months now). It has a soft spout and they just either suck or even just press their mouth on it. I am going to try putting expressed milk in it one day soon

    good luck
