    How long?

How long after you eat something does it 'appear' in breast milk? We've had gas issues related to lactose overload in the past, but with that under management I want to start introducing other foods that I've avoided, such as chocolate and food with more herbs/spices. TIA

I suspect it probably depends on all sorts of factors. There's not a lot of good information on this topic - ie, what and how foods 'appear' in your milk. There's an LC in Perth who's also a dietician - she may have up-to-date knowledge on this.
was there any reason you were avoiding these foods?

I was avoiding these foods b/c DD had bad gas and it seemed to help. Now that the gas was related to lactose overload which is under management I thought I'd start reintroducing these foods. I lived on spice and chilli while pregnant so I'm dying to eat it again!
