    Tips for pumping?

Ah ha ha ha ha! I just about wrote "Tips for pimping" Not pimping. Pumping!

I've got to get a bit of milk in the freezer for my little man. I'm going to be coaching a friend's labour any day now, and won't be able to nurse my little guy while I'm at the hospital. And I'm having a terrible time getting anything with the pump! I've been taking him in the bath with me, relaxing, nursing him on one side while pumping the other. I tried just pumping, but couldn't really get a let-down. With him on one side, I get some let-down, but only about 1-2 ounces, if I'm lucky. I know I've got enough milk - baby is growing FAT! But I just can't seem to pump it.

I really need to have some milk set aside ASAP! I'd appreciate any tips or help you could give me!
    Thanks!

Try sitting and relaxing watching tv, or reading a magazine and forgetting, was all that worked for me in the end.

Maybe try a different time of day. I found that first thing in the morning is the best time for me when I am pretty full from the night - can always get more then.

Tried a book in the bath tonight - worked a fair bit better! Got 3 oz from one side, and then got called in to the hospital! Just a practice run this time. I'll see what I can get in the morning. Only 4 hours until I have to get up again........

Well, after three trips to the hospital (50 min away...... ) baby arrived early this morning via c-section. Mom and baby are healthy and well. And, even though I didn't have very much milk put away, it ended up being the perfect amount. We had exactly what we needed.
Thanks so much for the advice ladies - I really appreciate it!
