I don't know the true answer to this hun but I had the same feelings a couple of times, I had a loss when I was still expressing full time for Matilda, I stopped expressing fell pregnant with Annabelle and she stuck. I also had a loss in October whilst still breastfeeding Annabelle (which I still am)... I have been told that it CANNOT cause a miscarriage although my mind still wonders if it did.
No. Breastfeeding doesn't cause miscarriage. Oxytocin is a hormone that is released in our bodies at different times. It's a "social' or "love" hormone. We release oxytocin while we are we are eating, enjoying the company of other people, being touched (massage) and through love-making (just to name a few instances) Oxytocin is one of my favourite hormones. It doesn't cause miscarriage.
I fell pregant while i was bfing (was up to 12 months at that stage) and continued feeding for another 3 or 4. My DD was born in Dec. I just wanted to add some reasurance for you along with the others
I wanted to reassure you too hun...I've mc'd while NOT breastfeeding, and then I've had beautiful healthy pregnancies (twice now!) while still demand bf'ing little ones.
Thanks everyone for your replies. I just wanted some reassurances that there was little or no evidence to suggest there was a link and that it was just "bad timing" so to speak. BUT if you don't ask the questions you don't get the answers do you.
I spose I know that I can fall preggers now while still feeding DD, I was contemplating weaning her.
I have had many successful pregnancies whilst B/F, and also some miscarriages sweets.
Your B/feeding is definately not to blame my lovely.... xoxoxo.. although I do know how the feeling can creep in into your mind.
I lost Seven whilst feeding, and I even had people saying, "Should you of been feeding Harmony while you were pregnant?".. Like they blamed me... ... only to lose Isaiah whilst not feeding... funnily enough noone commented when I fed and was pegnant and everything went fine, did they...
You are a great mummy, we all know that sweets, dont be hard on yourself....
