Interesting ABA meeting today!

The topic at the ABA meeting today was 'Fascinating facts about breastfeeding' Did you know that if your baby has a live oral vax (like rota virus vax) You shouldn't feed directly before during or after as the breast milk kills the vax!! Also when your baby puts their hand in your mouth while BF they do it to stimulate a let down (as well as playing) apparently sucking something sweet can stimulate hormones and assist with let down! So that's what I learned today!!

I was going to come today to that meeting but we have commitments.
I didn't know that!!!! Wow so the vaccine was a waste of time for us then that makes me sad that we bothered!!
Next baby won't be getting it anyway.

So interesting (and cool about the hand!).

Our GP and MACH nurse always encourage a BF straight after the vax to help calm bub down. The ABA should send this info far and wide!

wow, thats interesting bout the tax cause when my dd and son have got all their needles I have been told to breastfeed straight away by the doc/nurse to calm them down!

Not sure how long with the vax thing.. Til it absorbs in the gut? It's only a small amount so wouldn't be that long.. I am going to ask where the info came from, I am trying to search google and can't find anything credible to back it up.. So many women BF to settle their babes, I did it immediately after...
