    I've heard that...

You can't overfeed a breastfed baby... Is this true? Because my little heffalump is cuddly. Very cuddly. Cute little sumo man-boobs and roly-poly thighs etc. Is he just stockpiling for when he starts to crawl and burn more energy and not want to stop exploring long enough to feed?

i would say taht is true!! ( but i am no expert!) All babies are different as we all know!! but all of mine got really chubby before they started crawling and then slimmed right down! Your little one is just in a good paddock as my DH would say!

Hi Shades, I was told that you can't overfeed a breastfed baby. My DS sounds just like yours and created his own line on the growth charts there for a while but my GP & paediatrician both just said 'good job!' Nothing at all to worry about.

The MCHN did ask me if I was sure I wasn't feeding him formula?!

    Cuddly babies are tops

yeah, my DS put on HUGE amounts of weight for the first few weigh ins, the MCHN said that if I was giving him formula they would have told me to cut it right back, but as its BM they dont worry about it, it all evens out eventually....
DS was very cuddly up until the week before his first birthday, he came down with a nasty virus and existed on nothing but a few BM feeds and water for over a week, lost about 1-2kgs

#2 was a real guts, she had a growth spurt and shot out of 0000 clothes pretty much straight into 00 (I think she wore 2 000 clothes) and flew up from 50th to 80th percentile at the same time. Crazy times. But then she slowed down, which was good for my sanity. We used to call her Starvin Marvin.

Now I have a large collection of unworn 000 clothes in the cupboard for the next one and I'll bet we get given loads in that size.

I have photos of #1 being very roly poly when she was small too so its not like breastfed babies are skin and bones, they get fat too!
