Just a little BF woohoo :)

Today, DD1 (who is two years old in a week) had a breastfeed from me for the first time since my milk dried up when she was 14 months. I still pump for her a few times a week, and she's had a luck etc out of curiosity before, but today she had a short little feed! And I was really surprised, because from what I could tell, her latch was great. I was in the bath with the girls, and DD2 was having a feed, and DD1 was interested as always, and then said "Baby sissy Amey, molk yummy? All done?" I then I said that DD2 wasn't quite done yet, and she said "Okay sissy, my turn nest." After DD2 was done, I expected DD1 to not really know what to do, but she latched on, and after 10 seconds came of and said "Bubba molk" (which is what we called it when she was a baby) and signed milk like she used to for feeds. She then had a couple more 10ish second feeds. So not long by any means but it totally melted my heart, and I was surprised at how bonding it was for us in that short time. I told her whenever she wants milk, just ask me and she can have some So yeah, just a little yay for BF, because I was pretty devastated that our BF got cut so short.

Fantastic! I know how upset you were that she was cut off, so maybe/hopefully she'll pick up whereshe left off and you can continue on until you both come to a natural stop

Good on you both! With breastfeeding, there is almost always another chance! Little kids don’t “forget” how to breastfeed, and she is at an age when it’s perfectly normal to do so!
