A strange thing happened this morning, my DS refused to feed (never done this before) and not only would he not feed he wouldn't even lay across me or look at me, he was only happy when looking over my shoulder. So he went about 4.5 hours without a feed, which is unheard of for him the day and he has never just screamed when faced with nipple before either. I was at an ABA childrens week thing, so he had a sleep and was in his pushchair etc and then we came home, I took off my top and he fed happily (had refused only minutes earlier) it was a new top that had never worn before. So it seemed like he didn't like even looking at it (black and white and yellow flower pattern from RIPE), he has settled back down this arvo to normal happy self but just put the top back on and he is screaming again, is fine if he is looking over my shoulder (so don't think it can be smell of it) but screams if looks at pattern?
Anyone experienced anything like this before? Is typical I don't normally by breastfeeding tops but I got a good deal on it - and he hates it!
Has it been washed? Maybe it's itchy on him? In assuming more of his skin would be touching it when he's laying across you than when he's looking over?
Otherwise, weird!
No wonder was on special a BF top babies hate what use is that! I will wash it and try again, if that fails will give up with it I suppose but would feel a bit guilty giving it to some one else as breast refusal is stressful.
Hope he isn't a fashionista, I have no fashion sense so until he is old enough to tell me what to wear would rather not have a drama all the time !
