    Question lump??

I'm not sure whether i'm being silly or not but i seem to have found a lump in my right boob I noticed it about 3 days ago when i had a flare up of mastitis... it wasn't full blown mastitis, i must have slept on my boob which usually creates a blockage and anyway i woke up with a big sore lumpy area. This isn't new, i've experiences this a few times with Ds1 and Ds2 so i didn't worry too much. I did all the right things, offered that boob more to bub, gentle massage etc etc but after 2 days of feeling horrible with yucky flu symptoms and temp and a REALLy sore boobie i got out the hand help breast bump to see if that would budge the stubborn thing. Anyway i managed to get most of it out and today and yesterday i've been feeling good and back to normal...but i still seem to have a lump where the blockage was. Its not overly sore which has me a little worried as usually my mastitis lumps/blockages are terribly sore. I'm not sure if its just a gland i'm feeling thats full of milk...it seems a lot harder than a milk gland though. its about the size of a 5cent peice.

Anyway i'm just wondering if i should book a Dr.s appointment or wait to see if it goes on its own? I'm not sure how long its been there..if its from the mastitis then i guess its been there a few days but i'm also wondering if it caused the mastitis and thats how i found it??
    Should i be worried??
    Thanks

Maybe you could ask your gp? Couldn't hurt.

I had a similar lump when I had a blocked duct, scared me to death when I found it. I would definately go to the GP to get it checked out and for help clearing it. My GP put me on AB's to prevent mastitis but even with massaging, expressing etc it took me over a week to get rid of it.

Definitely follow up and make sure it clears completely - ask your dr for an ultrasound and a fine needle biopsy if it doesn't... I had a persistant lump (well I thought at the time that it was just a recurrent mastitis/blocked duct) which came & went but eventually turned out to be a tumour. So, don't be worried (chances are it's mastitis related) but if it's nagging at the edge of your mind then definitely get it checked out thoroughly.
