Maternity bras

Just wondering what the larger endowed are wearing. I went a month or so ago and got properly fitted and oh my goodness the increase in comfort was enormous but . . . in no time at all my bras seem to be stretching under the weight of my breasts and I'm back to hauling straps up, down, not feeling supported anymore etc.

My DH has offered several times now to wander around behind me holding my boobs for me but I think I need a more convenient and more public appropriate option Would love to know what other larger ladies have found that manages to deal with the weight that comes with larger breasts. Thanks.

The most effective earlier on were the triumph ones (lace maternity, which was the stretchy one, not the ones that didn't stretch like mamabel fleur) and the Elle Macpherson Maternelle one that was sort of intermediate between a singlet and a bra. The Maternelle only went up to an E though - and the sizes run a bit small. The triumph was a tad grannyish but very much the most comfortable - I ended up with every size from 18F to 12F from memory.
I also tried other Elle Macpherson ones, but they weren't as comfy as the Maternelle.
You might try taking the bands in at the sideseams too.

I have the triumph and yeah ugly but so comfy. I update them every 6 month's and I've been wearing them for 3 years.

Ugly Triumph here as well 16G, have to replace them every 6 months as loose support. Did have a hot milk bra when was a 14E but after that none fitted properly.
Been getting triumph ones now for over 4 years. Not cheap but about all I found that fitted but not pretty!

I've got some nice loveable ones in a 14G. I told the girl fitting me I didn't want any granny looking ones, they are quite nice and still offer subtle cleavage. They were $40 each which I think is a bargain as I normally pay $80 - $100 per bra!

I found hot milk and cake to be the best and I'm 10G. I don't even notice the extra weight.

I'm currently wearing a few wireless options from triumph, Kmart and best and less. But I have seen maternity bras but wonder aren't they for when you breastfeed?
I'm a 12 DD at the moment expecting that to get higher though! As I'm only 9weeks preg.

One option is to get them when what you have is annoying and doesn't fit. And also get a couple that are a cup size bigger than the highest cup size you end up being before baby comes. Then over feeding lots initially and feeding less as bub gets bigger and eventually weaning your breasts gradually shrink - and you can work your way back down through all the sizes you bought on the way up!

They are for breastfeeding but they are also for boobs of fluctuating sizes - so you may well find that they are the comfiest option well before feeding access is needed.

I was told to wear them from 12 weeks but it's for the wireless aspect I'm pretty sure. So if you're wireless now you should be fine until you need to bf.

I was a 14DD to 14E while feeding and loved Hot Milk and the Berlei ones for every day. I think I also had a few Elle McPherson ones, I think they are Berlei??
Very supportive and the Hot Milk are purdy.

Thanks lovelies. I have had the Triumph ones and agree they're very supportive but they cut across my boobs quite high and so I have difficulty getting tops and dresses I can wear that don't have half a ton of bra hanging out the top, especially in summer.

Will check out Blest and see what they have. I had Hot Milk ones throughout pregnancy and they ended up huge on me so maybe I'm not giving them enough credit. They are so purdy (and I like the matching knickers thing!) so might have to give them another go too in a size that actually fits ;-)

I'm fairly devoted to Hot MIlk now i know my size in their 2 cup styles and can stalk on-line specials.. i got a couple for about $25 each the other week.

I wear Freya. Currently wearing a 16HH, but busting out of it a bit so pretty sure I'm a J/JJ. Aside from the fact that it's no longer the right size, it's super comfy especially given how fricken huge and heavy my boobs are. Only reason I haven't gone up is that's the biggest they have and I have no idea where I can buy larger bras in person. Pretty hesitant to buy online without trying them on first.

What size cup are you? I know that Loveable sell a T-shirt style maternity bra but I think from memory they only went up to a FF. Was pretty upset when I realised my boobs had far outgrown an E cup cause it was exactly the style bra that I was wanting!

Its the Loveable one that I bought a month or so Miss Dee and I love it - the feel (when new) and the cut - but its just a bit too stretchy for bigger boobs I think. If I could afford to buy new ones every month they would be perfect. I'm a DD to an E, depending on the style.

If it's cotton based and you are going to have to replace it anyway because it is saggy, try a quick flit in the dryer and see if you can shrink it back a bit.

I think that there will always be a conflict between amount of bra showing and support offered - the higher they come up the front the less stretching, etc is likely.
The Maternelle ones also have that problem - except that they don't look anywhere near as granny bra, so it's not as offputting

Have you tried the Elle Macpherson Momamia - I don't know what it would be like early on, as I have only used them more recently. But it's probably the least granny-like of the easy to try on ones, and it doesn't seem to lose its elasticity.
