I don't seem to have much milk anymore and my boobs are like pikelets! I'm 18 weeks and I think my supply dropped off about a month ago. In the last couple of weeks DS has stopped attacking me for booby during the day as well because I assume its hard work getting anything! He still likes to "breastfeed" to sleep and doesn't seem too upset by it but I am feeling a bit guilty. Will this be how it is until DS2 is born or does supply pick up again later in the pregnancy?
I returned to work around 14wks pg and around that time DD dropped her day feeds, going to just first thing in the morning and last thing at night. I can see your DS is only a bit younger than my DD - could it be that he is just deciding it is time to not feed as much during the day?
I never really noticed an active drop in my supply - but I did notice that instead of taking 2mins on each side, all of a sudden DD was taking 10mins each side
So I think my supply did drop, she just seems happy to suck for longer so I'm not too concerned about it. The MWs at my hossy also said that supply drops towards the middle of the pg. It should pick back up again!
Don't feel guilty - if they want the booby enough they will adjust to whatever your body does! My little booby monster certainly has!
If anything, you should feel so proud of the fact that you are continuing your BF journey even while growing number 2 bubs!!! Well done!!!
Keep up the good work - remember to rest lots, if you can, because supporting three life forms (bubs, DS and yourself of course) can be pretty tiring!!!!
