    Question Neurofen Plus while bfing?

My wisdom tooth broke in half and is killing me, panadol isn't cutting it today, Jazz is having a shocker, and my dentist appointment isn't until November 17.

Does anyone know if I can take Neurofen Plus while breastfeeding?

After my c/s I was on panadeine forte and voltarin so it should be ok. Do you have any of the your c/s drugs left?

You poor thing! I've had 4 wisdom teeth out recently and the pain was unbearable
Nurofen plus(or any antiinflammatory) is not advisable while bf on a regular basis. Bub's kidneys are not able to deal with them that early. If you only planning to take for a couple of days, I think you should be right. Also depends how often you bf. Nurofen takes 6-8 hours to clear out of your system. Could you express? then maybe take it AFTER the feed and express for next feed. That way you have a few hours for your body to clear the nurofen.
Consider Panadeine 15 instead (more codeine + paracetamol) clears in 4-6 hours. Just a suggestion. I tried medijel with my wisdoms. It has an anaesthetic to numb the area. HTH.

Leasha, I was on Nurofen Plus for a fortnight with some serious back pain when bubs was about Jazz's age. My GP said that the amount that comes through my breastmilk would be inconsequential and would not affect the baby.

codeine at that dose should be ok. may make bub a bit drowsy but is safe to take. LoriRae is right, she prob won't get a high enough dose in breastmilk for there to be much concern.

Normal nurofen is fine to take while breastfeeding as well
