I was given some advice today to start putting nipple cream on now and to kind of stimulate the nipple whilst doing so. This is supposed to get them ready for BF. Is this correct? Should I start to put cream on them now? I am due in 9 days
Don't need to do anything to them, hun, they are preparing themselves. If you do anything to them you will disrupt the natural oils etc that they are producing.
Agree with the others , they don't bed anything .. They have been getting themselves prepared to so their thing go weeks now ... I found the best thing when I was feeding my DD was to make sure they got plenty of "free time " so lots of air and just leave your breasts out to air out sort of thing ha
Don't put anything on unless you really need to ...
Thought it sounded a bit strange! I guess i will have to get used to going bra-less. I hate that, I have always been way more comfortable with them 'strapped in'. And I only have a small B cup!
you don't have to go bra less
I'm the same , I always need a bra on . I just would always leave a little milk on them after a feed and give them a little air to dry after a feed ..

Try not to use Lansinoh in the first few days - it can interfere with baby's sense of smell, which they will use to find your nipple. If you need to use it, do so immediately after a feed and don't put anything on top - let the cream sink in and make sure it's all gone before baby next feeds.
I found Lansinoh did zero for my cracked nipples. I second the breast milk on the nipple after a feed and letting them air dry (with a little sun if u can manage it!!)
I hope you enjoy your breastfeeding journey when the time comes. I'm loving mine!
