DD has always been a pretty good sleeper. It's a bit erratic but generally she just wakes up once and a couple of nights a week she tends to sleep through. Right from the beginning I have always woken up in the morning super engorged. My boobs will be rock hard, I will have often leaked all through my top and many nights I have gotten up to pump because I am so uncomfortable I can't sleep. Anyway dd slept through the longest ever last night until 7:30am (gave me a bit of a fright actually) and yet when I woke up my boobs weren't engorged at all, not one little bit. They weren't even uncomfortable or feeling full. They were just there nomal selves.
Now as this is the longest I have breastfed I am wondering is this just my supply settling properly or should I be worried about a supply drop??? I guess the only reason I ask is I have never not been engorged in a morning and because dd is fussing so much on her feeds during the day right now (4 monthh monster lol). She feeds through let down and then she starts playing and scratching and biting on the nipple. Even this morning after her super long sleep she only fed through let down and then pulled off and wouldn't go back on again, she only wanted to play. I'm just not sure if I should be doing anything about it or not.
For most of the time we are breastfeeding our breasts just feel soft and normal - it's usually only in the beginning they feel hard and full all the time. Often when baby starts to sleep longer during the night we will feel engorged at first, but eventually our body gets the hang of it and our supply settles down to accommodate the new situation. All sounds normal! You are doing well.
Yeah I didn't think there was a problem but it was just different so it automatically makes me start to wonder lol. I am the first to admit I am not great at this breastfeeding thing. It stresses me out lol. I suppose I should just look at dd's cheeks (they are wider than her head) and go of that lol.
