Silent reflux has returned since starting solids

I posted this in the colic/reflux thread but thought it might be relevant too....

My boy is 7.5 months old and started solids a about a month ago. He developed reflux (mostly silent) at about 3 weeks old and we managed to control it with homeopathics and an oseto.
Since starting solids he is waking up to 10x a night screaming. Day sleeps are fine because he's on his back for 2 hrs at the most, however, at night time he gets to about 5/6 hours of sleep and then he's up hourly in pain and smelling acidic. We are still seeing the homeopath and osteo but it hasn't been as successful this time.
Has anyone else experienced this? Were there any particular foods that set it off?
I've been very careful with the foods I've introduced due to the previous reflux issues. He has only had pumpkin, sweet potato, zucchini, carrot and avocado so far (he's had a couple of jars of organic baby food while we've been away but still just the vege listed above).
The lack of sleep is taking it's toll on all of us. He's definitely in pain and I just don't know where to go from here.

Sorry to hear that it's returned. What a pain for you all.
Not sure what to suggest, as the reflux for our son seemed to improve around that age. Is he having BF or FF? Has anything changed there? If he's still BF, is it something in your diet, setting him off? Our kids have all had trouble when I eat dairy, pull their legs up and scream and pull off the boob.
Can you raise his bed a little, so he's not flat on his back? We tried a paed chiro who worked wonders, but I guess you're already seeing an osteo.
Have you tried baby probiotics? Our naturopath recommended it or you can take it and it will pass through the breast milk. This seemed to help our son's reflux.
Not sure what else to suggest. I hope things improve for you soon

I have been living like that for the last 6 months now and it really sucks

My DD will sleep for a few hours at the start of the night, but then wriggles and feeds and squirms every 20minutes or so the rest of the night. I am tired!

Sugar is definitely a trigger for us, I can't eat any as it passes through breast milk and gives her a gut ache.

I might give an osteo or probiotics a try, because it is really, really draining.

Sometimes (maybe often) when babies are diagnosed with reflux, it's actually a food allergy or intolerance. Given that you have seen the symptoms worsen since starting solids, it would seem that there is a chance that this is what is going on with your DS. I think it would be worth consulting a dietician who specialises in food sensitivities (google the Dieticians Association and on their website you can find a dietician - select food sensitivities as a specialty). Also note that some dieticians do phone, email and Skype consultations so if you can't find one locally you can still get help. At least this will help to know whether this is the underlying issue or not.

In the meantime, I'd be tempted to reduce the solids and see if a smaller quantity eases things. Are you breastfeeding?
