Today - the park at Lake Gillawarna near Georges Hall... DD was running and fell over so it was mummy milk to the rescue!
ETA: the above was a 'strange' place as DD is 26 months old and I got all sorts of looks.... oh well!

When I was in Ireland, everywhere was weird according to most, because DS was 19mo ;) But, in Ireland, DS decided he really needed to feed in the burial chamber of Newgrange (neolithic stone druid site), so I sat on the floor in there, looking up the light shaft to imagine the Winter Solstice and Druid priests doing their thing right where I was sitting!
All sorts of places, though, that I've fed. I was doing gas suit training with fire brigade it was assessment night. DS was about 8 weeks old. He'd been asleep for most of it, and decided to wake at the moment I had JUST finished donning all the gear in correct order (my structural gear, gas suit with the gumboots attached, my breathing apparatus and my helmet), so I then had to take it all off, in correct order (according to Fire Ground Practices or I'd fail the exercise I was being assessed on), strip out of my structural gear and get an engorged (oversupply) leaky boob out. I was so proud of myself - not just correct order, but record time, too!
My crowning glory, though, has to be the time I was out with my horse where I used to agist, and DS was riding with me at my front. He would have been about 2.5yo or less, but he had a helmet and I was riding bareback with him. It was a warm day and as we rode around the arena he decided he was thirsty. No-one else around to help with my horse, so I lifted him up, turned him around and let him feed - it was such a blissful moment, combining the two things I'd been most passionate about in my life till that point! Ever since then I've been planning a photo of the kids and me on my horse, feeding DD - but DP is one of those who suddenly becomes allergic to cameras when I ask him to take photos of me...so I'm still in planning stages! I wanted to have it for the ABA calendar, ya know, some time before I stop breastfeeding...!
While walking around a vitamin supplement store, DD2 was hungry and at that point not to heavy so I was able to feed her and keep walking :)

Streets Beach at South Bank, in the water, Friday afternoon. She asked, I gave.
In her car seat, because she is still rear facing, I can lean over when sitting next to her an feed her off to sleep in the car. Love that one.
When we were moving house and had no furniture, we had to be pretty creative too. For a couple of days, all of our feeds were just lying on the floor, as we had nowhere else to go.

I'll feed DD anywhere, but I guess the most notable so far have been at the theatre and the other say at the RCH, DD was in the middle of a feed and we had to go a floor up, so I just got up, into the lift and into the next waiting room all while she was on the boob :)
On a boat over the weekend :D Four times!
Today my friend bf in the Royal Botanical Gardens. Nothing weird there, right?
Well, it was during the registration period for the annual Law Institute Fun Run, with hundreds and hundreds of lawyers all around!
Maybe it's a sign of how long I've been breastfeeding continuously, but none of these places seems 'weird', just part of diverse and active life :) Go forth and normalise!
I read this before but didn't post cos I didn't think i had anything to post. Then last night i remembered that i was bf in all of my sisters wedding group photos... Not weird i know but I guess that's the point? It was normal enough that i didn't even think about it iykwim?

May I ask if anyone has breastfed in court? I breastfed in family court recently and had no idea that it's uncommon to do to and seen as a bit disrespectful in the eyes of the court (a police officer said that I "probably shouldn't be doing that here" and that I "might need to leave", I wasn't aware at the time that it was a bit of a no no), just wondering if anyone else has?
My experience is that children, including newborns, are not permitted into Family Court rooms. I have seen women asked to remove their babies on two occasions.
I was asked to bring both DD1 and DD2 in :dunno: I sent DD1 out with DH because she's a normal noisy 19 month old, but not the judge or any police officers said anything about taking them out...they told us to take them in :confused:
I used to feed both DS1 and DS2 whenever they wanted it. I have breastfed:
- on the loo - I just couldn't hold on any more!
- in the bath
- in the shower
- whilst out doing the grocery shop - this takes a bit of practice, manovouring the trolley, holding onto bubs and, putting things in the trolley
- various cafes and restaurants
- on a plane
- in church (at mass, at a wedding, at a funeral)
- water/theme park
Anywhere really. I don't consider these places odd or unusual. Breastfeeding is completely natural and as long as you don't leave your boobs hanging out on display I don't see what the issue is.
I have breastfed everywhere I go in normal life (shops, planes, boats, trams, trains, buses, church, cafes etc etc) but my most recent strange place was in an open air 1955 fire truck over the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco! Ds was tired so he stayed on the boob the whole time...everyone got to enjoy the ride that way :)
Ds is seriously big for his age (the size of a three year old at 21 months) so I get plenty of looks while feeding him. Strangely here in the USA (we are on holidays) I haven't had any negative looks or comments.
