Hamish is a week old today and is a really good feeder. I'm concerned about my supply as I seem to not be going through that really terrible enforcement phase. For a couple of days when my milk came in they would get full and lumpy and now they just don't seem to get like that. Should I be worried?
As long as bub is putting on weight and alert it's all good (according to my GP). But if bub is sleeping /eating only, then that's a bit of a problem as he may not have the energy to do more than feed. Maybe talk to your MCHN and see? Some things are best investigated quickly, specially with BFing.
As others have mentioned, if bub is having plenty of wet nappies and 'good' poos, if you can call them that! Is content and alert, all is fine. I spent about 14 months engorged so enjoy the feeling of boobs that dont feel like they are going to explode DS might just have really got the hang of this feeding thing quickly
He is only just starting to have alert periods as his jaundice clears up. Apart from that he's happy, content, sleeping well at night and having wet/dirty nappies after every feed. He was weighed the other day and he'd gained 150gr in 2 days (was an hour after a feed) so I think he's ok. Have another appointment with the mchn on Wednesday so if his weight gain isn't any good I'll talk to her then. Thanks ladies
