Terrible night with lots of reflux

    HI ladies,

Just wondering, is there a reason why only last night (for the first 6 nights DD2 has been ok) that DD2 has been spewing every feeding, wetting the bed and her blanket with her spew. She also had lots and lots of pooey nappies and felt like her tummy was very unsettled.

This went for all night last night.

    Was it something I ate?

How long does it take for food to reach the breast milk and food to get out of the breast milk, ie if i drink coffee, how long until the coffee is out of my BM? is my BM too thick?

    DD1 never had this issue

    thnx

it might have nothing to do with what you have eaten. ds wasn't chucky for the first few days either.

i think you said she was coughing in other post? maybe she has swallowed a bit of muccus that is making her spew more? or it could just be that she is taking in more food now.

hopefully, it is a short term thing.

    Sounds rough!
They change, and very rapidly in the first few months, so it might not be anything at all, just the current stage.
It sounds like she's feeding well and getting plenty of milk Your breast milk is perfect. Sometimes babies react to foods, but most of the time it isn't an issue. Maybe keep an eye on it, particularly if things get worse and/or there's a family history of allergies or intolerances.
    Any illness in the house?

DD has been coughing but DD2 isn't coughing, just spewing heaps.

Oh man I seriously feel like a first time mum lol.

She's sleeping like a baby now.

Sorry, am on my phone so can't see your babies age/location details, but NSW has a massive outbreak of gastro, and I've seen something that mentioned rotovirus. We've had it through our house- at least the adults did. Our 2 year old got away with three pooey nappies in one day and I assumed it is because she was vaccinated as a newborn for rotovirus.

If there's a cough going round, it actually could be that. Gastro is very unlikely in an exclusively breastfed baby, but something to keep an eye out for - watch for signs of dehydration.
I think if you're still concerned then try and get on to your nurse or GP.
