Smile We made it to 15 months of BF'ing, now we're done

Well, my last ever baby is now weaned at 15 months. Not sure if I should insert a happy smilie or a crying one LOL!

I have very mixed feelings about it. I'm proud to have gotten so far, DS1 was BF'd until 6 months and DS2 until 11 months. So feeding DD until 15 months is a great achievement for me. I actually decided to wean her rather than let her decide. She was only BF'd once a day (before bed at night) and I know there wasn't really much left for her because she was getting frustrated.

I knew our time was coming to an end, so I decided to bite the bullet. It feels good knowing that if I'm not here, DH or someone else can now put her to bed at night without her being dependent on me. And I can't wait to wear underwire bras again hahaha!

We had a good innings, but I do feel sad that this is my last baby and I'll never BF again. I'll miss those gorgeous snuggles, I'll miss watching DD fall asleep contentedly in my arms while feeding. But I'm feeling good to have my body back to myself finally. I feel ready to move on. I'm so glad DD was on the good stuff for so long though

Don't really know what the point of this post is, I just need to sort out my feelings I think!

Well done on giving your DD such a fabulous start and your bfing achievement with all three is one to be proud of!

It's so nice to hear the weaning transition was gentle and hassle-free for DD. And I'm sure you'll be okay with it soon.

Wow! What an amazing journey. You should be very proud of yourself and your little girl for b/feeding for 15 months.

I understand the sense of sadness and relief because I had felt that both times my babies had thier last b/f. I imagine it is worse when it is your last baby though.

So yes, its time go off and enjoy all those things you can now do with a weaned toddler, but you can always look back on your b/f time (DS1, DS2 & DD) with pride and a massive sense of accomplishment.

Gotta love those guilt free bevvies, underwire and over the counter medicines!
