And we're done....

...... 13 months and DD has recently weaned, and I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who's ever posted anything about BF as it all helped us get as far as we did.

Those first 3 months were so hard, but I was more stubborn than anything to get it right, and I'm so glad we did. My first goal was that magical 6 week mark, then 3 months, then it became 6, and then I thought well why not 12 months

It's been a really smooth transition, DD was down to just morning and night feeds not long after we returned to work/kindy in Feb (she was far too busy playing at lunch to want to BF when I visited) and not long after introducing a cup of milk in the mornings after her birthday did she start really fussing at the breast and eventually refusing me. Loves her cup of milk though, so all good.

I had really mixed feelings about it at first, as I do think a small part of me started to feel more concious from all the negative comments I got as she got closer to 1, but all in all as it has been so smooth I'm now just feeling proud that we BF for her first year. Oh and I bought some new bras yesterday and gee it's nice to have two seperate boobs with underwire again

Well done on 13 wonderful bfing months!! You gave your DD a great start to life with all the wonderful bm and the closeness bfing provides. You should spoil yourself with some lovely bras!

Well done, such a great effort! I so hear you on the bra front!!!!! We recently finished up our BF journey and every time I look down I smile cos it is so good to have a bit of perk there LOL! I was actually thinking about posting a woo hoo...

Congrats. That's our next step, so it's nice to hear such a positive story - makes me a little less anxious about the whole weaning thing. Can't wait for new (padded) bras either!
