    Thumbs up

Good post thanks for asking the question Skybie.

While i don't feel it every time I do feel slight tingling - or tickle in the inside IYKWIM. Definitely not painful but just a little different from what it normally feels like. I'm having to use a shield which I assume which deaden any effect anyway but would prefer to feel it so that I know he's geting milk. I don't get any leaking that a number of other ladies talk about.

How quickly do you find your let down occurs. My little one is a sluggish sucker and I am afraid he will give up - too hard basket - if it doesn't occur quickly?

    This is really interesting.
I never feel a let down and didn't realise so many people did.

Meadsie- mine usually happens in a minute or two depending on what kind of headspace im in, if im uptight and rushed it takes a little longer, but if im nice and relaxed its relativley quick.
i like how u ladies have put it, if u can feel it u know its working, going to put that spin on it from now on and not how uncomfortable it is!

^ I was just so glad to get over the after-pains when feeding that the 'tickling' pain in my breasts upon letdown was an absolute relief! Afterpain cramping suuuucked :/

That is one of the things I miss about not breastfeeding anymore. I used to love the feeling - I pretty much felt it from my head to my toes. (or maybe I'm confusing let down with love )

I only feel it when I am really really full, but at the beginning i used to feel it all the time. Like green ant bites!

This time round my let down is bearable and just feels a bit hot and tingly. It definitely did not feel like that last time! With DS is was like someone were stabbing my nipples and areolae and it lasted ages (the let down itself and the duration till I never got it anymore whilst feeding) - it would have been about 6 months with DS at least. Nipple vasospasm didn't help, initially, but when that disappeared, the stabby sensationed remained.

With Chooky and after having Noah, my let down was like a tickle... it was kinda nice and noticeably a let down.
I think losing Noah and hating that even thinking about him made my breasts leak has made my mind not be able to think about let down or something because I haven't felt it since. So, the only time I know my breasts have let down is if Anelise pulls off and I leak everywhere, or if she is covered in milk.

I didn't feel any letdown until DD was about 7 weeks old, and then it felt like somebody was pushing a knitting needle up my nipple!! I felt it mostly on the side I wasn't feeding on. It still feels like that at nearly 6 months but hurts a lot less. Lasts about 10 seconds.
