DD got constipated on just about every formula I tried except for Nan HA. When she turned 1 I moved onto Heinz and she didn't react to it. HTH

I use Novalac Gold as its been the only one that hasnt caused her to have wind and she doesn't puke it up.

Can you talk to your GP or do you have a MCHN to talk to?? That could give you extra advice.

How many mls is she having? At a month DD was on 75mls every 2-3 hours.

My DS1 was on Nan HA up till age of 1 then normal milk. Nan HA was reccomended due to it being good for kids who may be susesptible to allergies. It made him have army green poo, he still did poo very religiously and consistently and never had constipation.

I have used karicare gold in the past with my older two children, it was great neither of them suffered any constipation.

    Goodluck.

This might sound controversial, but why dont you try feeding her more often with the novalac... If she tolerats it, then why can you give her more? Like every two to two and a half hours, try the 120mls... and see how she goes??? She is so small, and her tummy is small, and she is getting hungry. I know the tin will tell you a certain number of feeds a day, but you can still demand feed formula... Dunno... that is what I would try. Good luck.

I've tried many formulas (having formula fed all 3 of my kids) but just a thought - she might be like my DD1 who was on 2 hourly feeds for about the first 4 months. She would get hungry really quickly, but only drink about 50-60mls - so she definitely didn't go by the guide on the side of the tin.

Quite a comparison to my DS (who is older) who was a 4 hourly feeder from the get go - then I get this strange little baby who wanted feeding more often! lol.. I just went with the flow, so you could just try it for a bit and see how she goes?

Yeah I did do the demand feeding cause in two weeks ahe grew 11 cm which to me is huge ao I think she gettin growth spurts lol but she would demolish both n then puke everywhere n cry n cry I think too full
She is sooo diff too my boys I never have had this many issues with them lol this is her 4th formula in 3 weeks approx..
I jus hope he takes it good

Wow she is growing really fast. My DD took ages to have her first growth spurt. I do agree with feeding her more. Do you stop half way and burp her?

I hope this one works better. It really is a matter of trial and error. Thank fully we only had to change her formula twice.

DD used SMA as S26 was not filling her up, so we got a thicker based formula ...

This was almost 10 yrs ago now, and can't remember too much info on SMA (as in lactose intolerance etc)

You can still get SMA from Woolies. It says that it specifically keeps tummies fuller for longer. It's because it contains more of a different type of protein which takes longer to digest.

I'm finding heinz Nurture is good for DS.

I'm a bit naive here, but why do you want something that takes longer to digest? Wouldn't this give bub tummy aches?

I dont think all the chopping and changing formula can be good for her... I would still stick with giving her more of the novalac, more frequently, and see how you go before changing her again. If the only issue you are having with it is how hungry she is... Just give her a bit more... I treated it kind of like breastfeeding, give half a bottle, burp, let him have a little reflux, then give him a little break, then the rest of the bottle... And if he cried for more, he would get it... With DS1, we used the Nan ha gold, and it took him a bit to get used to it, but it was the best for his reflux, but I demand fed him. Didnt pay any attention to the can, except for quantity of scoops of powder to water, And he was happier that way...

All the changing can affect her poops too....

I wouldn't change either, it would probably upset her more, especially when she was so constipated and you have found one that works. Cluster feeding is probably the way to go lots of little feeds in the afternoons.
