Weaning 22 month old off pre-bed feed :(

help.... im wanting to wean DD off her pre bed feed for a few reasons.
ive just cut her down to about 20 secs each side and tonight i didnt feed at all....didnt go so well. she screaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamed, i ended up doing the very quick feed and she still screamed..how can i do it so shes not so upset, or will she just adjust?
she did eventually settle but seeing as im home alone at bedtime all week i want it to be less painfull for us both

ETA she still has two other feeds per day which im keeping

    Hi,
I know it's tough, but do you think the week you are home alone at bedtime is the week to make the final cut?
40 seconds and she's out, opposed to a whole lot of screaming? You need support to make that final cut. Remember, they all do wean - you won't be feeding her to sleep forever...

hi barb i know i picked the worst week possible
she doens feed to sleep at night (does though at lunch time) maybe i'll continue the quick feeds then hand her to DH to sit with her til she fall asleep as thats the main issue

Maybe introduce something fun after the bf that she looks forward to, like a story or a teddy or a cuddle in bed or something?

Otherwise, if you don't mind sharing your need to wean pre bedtime reasons, maybe we can give you other ideas? It can be hard to drop this one.
