It's a chocolate drink similar to Milo and you can buy it in Woolies or Coles. It's right next to the Milo in a bright orange tin.

    :yeahthat:
It looks like little ants, or worse, little mouse poos When I drank it I used to dissolve in hot water before adding the milk, but I know others like the crunchy bits so just pour the milk straight on.

SamiH - it is thought that Aktivte may help increase your BM supply.

Hey hon Have you got a Woolies out that way? That's where I picked up my container of Aktavite - actually I think it may still be sitting in my pantry It's in an orange container with a brown lid.

I didn't notice a difference in my supply when I tried it but definately tasted yummo. As it wasn't making a difference, I stopped drinking it because I had mine with only milk (tastes yuk with hot water) and zapped it in the microwave and so I was drinking waaaayyy toooo much milk which wasn't agreeing with me. I just stick with Milo now (that tastes ok with some hot water). TBH I don't think there is much difference in the ingredients between the two.

How many cups were you drinking, Laranna? I was having at least three a day on the recommendation of BB ladies. I used to heap in 2-3 large spoonfuls, disolve the choc in some boiling water (just a teeny bit) then add milk, but I'd only have a small cup. Yeah, I too was drinking heaps of milk, but would alternate with soy sometimes. (Though now I won't touch soy - I've heard too many nasty things about the hormones in it. Nut milk is another option I'll consider this time round.)

Yum!! I love Aktavite..... I think it's better for you than Milo? As in more nutrients etc. It's kinda formulated as a meal replacement like Sustagen isnt it??
I found it was helpful in 1st tri for me when i was having trouble eating with nausea.

I did "the aktavite drink" when I was b/f and I remember thinking it definitely made a difference, but I dont know who much of that was psychological/self fulfilling prophecy...whatever it was it worked for me though.

Side effect wise, I make me really constipated so I had to drink a lot more water and have a more fibre - and the water is likley what actaully improved my supply.

Snacks, I was drinking around 4 cups a day with 3-4 heaped teaspoons...so nearly a litre of milk a day!

Whoa Yup, I imagine that would've been enough to notice a difference if it were to make one

so does anyone know how it's supposed to work? Is it the drink itself or the fact you're having more milk that helps?

And if you have it with soymilk, do you think it would still have as much? I tend to have soymilk cos it's in the house for DH and I kinda prefer the taste to cow's milk... but I could have either probably.

Like Laranna, I tend to have a lot of milo... so I wonder if it would make any difference having Aktivite instead... hmm.

Hey Beflie, I always drank it with soy milk and it still worked for me.

And I figured if it didnt work, atleast I was getting calcium which I wouldnt otherwise get
