    Bleeding nipples....again

So DS is teething i have just gotten over one lot of bleeding nipples.....only to have him bite me at the end of a feed and we are back to square one with the bleeding!! Ready for the awesome black poo after that....

He's sleep is awful and im beginning to wondering if the lack of sleep i am getting is having an effect on my milk. Monday he had a bottle of goats milk while i was at work before bed and slept for 10hrs!!! Unheard of! Im lucky to get past 3 hrs!

Not sure what the point of the post is just thinking aloud

Oh babe, you poor thing. That sounds so painful. Bigs hugs. I am not looking forward to teeth. Knowing my luck I'll finally get DD to feed pain-free and the teeth will start and just add to the mix.

Unsure about the correlation between lack of sleep and milk supply but regardless, any rest is important as a mummy so I hope you can snatch a bit more here & there.

    Hugs for you.

Minny, it is possibly frustration - boys can be a little impatient! But I wouldn't worry too much about the sleep after goats milk hun. It doesn't mean he's not getting enough from you. Goats milk has a totally different mix of proteins than human or dairy and he was probably sleepy because it was harder to digest. OT, but is there a reason you are using goats milk? If you are worried about your supply, the best thing to do is to offer more feeds for a few days.

The other common reason for biting at around that age is that the attachment isn't good. It is so easy to just let them attach in any position at that age but sometimes this can lead to pain. Perhaps for a few feeds you could try paying careful attention to his position and make sure he is in nice and close with his head tilted like he's drinking a half empty glass of water.

    Thank you both!

Infinity - DS got teeth at 4months and had never really bitten me to the point that it bleeds until these last lot of teeth. Pretty sure all his eye teeth are coming down at once! Im sure your DD will be a little angel

Mantaray - He has goats milk as its the only "milk" he can have in bigger quantities. Cows milk makes his excema really bad and he gets spewy. He has a small lactose intolarance and goats milk seems to agree with him. So he has a mix of EBM and goats milk makes up the difference while im at work. Expressing as hes getting older just isnt working like it used to.

Bleeding seems to have stopped again i can see where he grazed the nipple he doesnt do it again anytime soon especially after i yelled!
As for attachement i will what you suggest i guess once they do get older its not something you pay alot of attension to!

Fingers crossed hun! I know what you mean about expressing at that age - with both my boys I stopped expressing at about the 11 month mark as I couldn't get any EBM any more.
