    For those with supply issues

I just wanted to share a little success story with you....

I've struggled with my milk supply on and off throughout the last few months, resulting in my DD being low in terms of weight gain. I was on motilium with good results, but found that as soon as I came off it the milk supply dried back up again. Having had a run in with the GP about her prescribing more motilium I started to look around for alternative wats that might increase my supply. I'd already tried fenugreek to no avail, and been eating oats and drinking nursing tea, although I don't know how effective they were because I used them at the same time as the motilium - I guess they didn't work alone because when the motilium ran out the milk supply did too.

I got in touch with the accupuncturist who'd treated me with great results through my difficult pregnancy and went in for some accupuncture to increase my milk supply. She also told me some Chinese herbs to take, some foods to avoid and to eat based on Eastern medicine, and burned some moxa and gave me some to use daily at home.

A week and a half after my first treatment I weighed DD to find that she'd put on 360g in 1 week! I also noticed a sudden abundence in my milk supply. All in all I had 3 accupuncture treatments, the moxa and herbs most days for the last 3 1/2 weeks and I feel like my milk supply is at it's best ever.

I'll be interested to see how it goes over the coming weeks and months, but just thought I'd share my success so far in case it can help anyone in the same way so many others have helped me with info recently.

May I ask who you saw? I read your story and it could have been me!

I still hope that I can boost my supply.

    Thanks,

Hi Traceyvon, I see Svenja Petry at Art of Health in Annandale - she's fantastic! I hope you have as much success as I do.

Beema - wow, that has come around quickly! I've heard that the success rate with Moxa for turning breach bubs is really high, so fingers crossed that next time Flicker stays the right way round. From what I've read it seems that it's not a given that you will have supply issues second time around, so hopefully you won't need it, but if you do, you're a prime candidate for the acupuncture working if you've already been having it with success. All the very best of luck over the coming weeks - I'll be keeping an eye out for that birth announcement.
