She is 9 and half months old and I still leak. Especially over night and the opposite side during a letdown.
She is probably having 4 to 5 feeds a day and certainly still loves her booby but
I am over the breastpads!
However the tell tale wet spots on my shirts are just not a look I wanna rock for the summer
Good question! I stopped from about 5-7 months, but I leak on the opposite side during a let down again now. Not at night anymore, thank goodness! Yep, over the breastpads too! On the plus side, the breast pads do make my bb's look bigger (still only a B cup so can use the help!)
It never stopped for me with DD1. She self weaned around 11-12months and I still leaked for a few weeks after she stopped BF. I am going through it now and although not as bad this time, it is still happening. I have found johnson breastpads the best but 4 boxes a week sure does get expensive. I know exactly what your going through and how fed up you can get.
It's different for everyone hun. With DS1 I stopped needing breastpads not long before he turned 1, and with DS2 I only needed them for about 4 or 5 months. Hopefully it will stop soon for you. Have you tried washable breastpads? Good ones can last longer than disposables and of course it doesn't take long for you to be saving money with them. Maz-a-licious by our very own Maz are highly recommended.
I still leak on letdown if I don't have a bra on, I've found I have to still wear my bra to bed cause the pressure of it on my nipples stops the leaking. I haven't had to use pads since about 5 months.
Sometimes I decide to go braless during the night, I just have to poke the opposite nipple in till just after letdown, sometimes I forgot, doze off and wake up wet.
Umm... i think with DD it was somewhere between 5-7 months? Perhaps closer to 7 months thinking about it...
I still had a very strong let down I could feel in both breasts, but the non-feeding side just didn't leak anymore lol
