    Unhappy Cracked bleeding nipples again!

Again my left nipple is shredded and I have to peel the blood caked nipple from my clothing to feed. I'm over it! I am in so much pain I just want to cry.

It's the thrush. Again. I have systemic candida and I have spent hundreds of dollars and six months trying to fight it, and I still have it. Any small variation in my diet or slight bit of caffeine or immune stress and it's back. I get shooting pains in my breasts and itchy genitals and then the cracked nipples start again (the thrush seems to dry out my nipples so they look scaly and then they crack).

I'm off to the naturopath again. To find out what to put on them and to cry and whinge about it.

Dh is away for three nights so I'm feeling especially vulnerable and I'm back to dreading feeds.

I have fed non stop for nearly three years...what is wrong with me??.

    Whinge over

    Arcadia, that sounds intolerable.

I truly hope that you can find a permanent solution very soon. And I hope that the time while DH is away goes very quickly.

Oh gosh Arcadia you are having such a hard time. I don't know what to do, I've never had it. You are so amazing to still be going through all of this.

I never had systemic candida, but I did have cracked and bleeding nipples on a few occasions that took ages to heal and stuck to clothing and hurt like blazes during every.single.feed. for weeks on end so I can empathise with the pain factors. I am so sorry you're going through this and it's taking so long to clear up. I would be totally over it too in your shoes. You are doing such a fantastic job hun. I hope the naturopath can help. Take care.

Oh hun. That sounds really painful.

There's no chance of an underlying infection is there? Have you thought about having a swab taken just to check?

    Hope it gets better soon.

    Owwwww! you poor thing!
Have you tried taking pro-biotics every night? I get capsules from our chemist and take 1-3 every night when candida starts up. Also, there is a homeopathic diet you can go on for 6-8 weeks to help eleminate it from your system. Its a bit tricky but well worth it if you can stick to it.

    Thanks for the replies everyone.

I am on probiotics, sb flora active, and the anti candida diet (as much as I can be while breastfeeding). I have tried anti fungal medication and now am trying herbs. Tbh I don't even know if it is candida sometimes because it just won't feck off...

Maybe I should get a saliva test and see what my candida levels are now?? Over it.

    Thanks for the love though.
