So I know that green pops generally mean the baby is getting mainly fore milk and not the hindmilk.
However I have been leaving dd on as long as she likes. I have mastitis now for a third time so I am predominantly nursing from the bad side. She is on there for a while because I use at least 2 positions to drain it properly. She even spills milk after so she is over full.
What I'm wondering is, is it possible that the mastitis has affected the fat content in the milk and that's why her poo is green? What can I do about it? Do I just wait it out?
Is the green poo dangerous? She seems to be putting on weight still?
We spend enless hours analysing the colour of poo. But guess what? It just doesn't matter. If she's feeding well, happy and thriving no drama. It will vary in colour but so what?
If a baby is very unhappy and miserable and not thriving the poo can give us clues as to what's going on (ie is he getting enough?) But where a baby is healthy and thriving then there is no problem
Remember - whenever your breasts are uncomfortably full - move that milk! Pick up your baby and feed her, or express until your breasts are comfortable. Put an icepack on them and rest. I was wondering, did you join ABA yet? You obviously are very interested in breastfeeding - you'd love it.
