Hi all, DD3 has oral thrush and i now have it on my nipples.
What do we get and do?
ive swapped from cloth breast pads to disposable, changing them regularly. is there anything else besides the nilstat and daktarin i need to do?

Oh I am dealing with this at the moment too. My Lactation Consultant told me to wash my nipples in water and bi carb soda- 500ml lukewarm water with 2 teaspoons bi carb. Dry well. Unfortunately, I am having pain in nipple and breast- I take Nurofen at night to help me sleep and because I find painful night feeding a little harder to deal with than painful day feeding.
I am also taking Diflucon orally. Can be bought over the counter. There is some good info here Thrush in Lactation
    Good luck!

You can give your nipples a water and vinegar wash too. I also got DS some pro biotics from the health food shop, I put it in his ebm bottle, or if she's not having bottles make a paste and put it on her tongue like you do with daktarin. You can also put some on your nipples for bub to suck.

I found the only thing that worked was daktarin cream on my nipples, a probiotic for me and daktarin oral gel for dd2. The oral gel is not recommended for babies as its quite thick but I applied it with a cotton tip rather than the spoon provided as advised by the GP. Nilstat did nothing for us.

Good luck it can be very painful and frustrating
