Pcos, metformin & bf

So I have been taking metformin on and off since I was 13 yrs old. It helps me regulate af and keep my weight down I also feel better while taking it.

But can I take it while bfing?

Loula, I'm not sure. There are some contacts in THIS THREAD that you can get the most accurate information from. Don't rely on your doctor of the back of the medicine box as they often only have the 'arse-covering' general statement, which is not necessarily accurate.
In general, most medications are fine to take while breastfeeding.

I asked my Endo this on Thursday because I haven't had it since I fell pg with Miss S. She did say that I could have it while I was BF but she had ordered B/ts to be done before I started it again. And should I need it, to start back at a lower dose.
But like I would alway say, check with your dr. HTH xx
