I am wondering if it might be helpful to use breast warmers for the times when my Raynauds caused discomfort.
Does anyone have any experience with breast warmers?
Sometimes it feels like I have ice cold milk or blood in my breast (which is mostly discomfort rather than pain). It doesn't effect my ability or desire to breastfeed, and is not constant (more common on cold days), seems best thing is to be warm...so breast warmers for the cool days where I need warm boobs but it isn't cold enough for warm clothes?
I have Raynards as well. Warming the breast didn't work for me, but I think it is worth a try and has worked for others. There is a thread here somewhere about vasospasm so try and run a search under vasospasm as people have written things that worked for them. I'd try and look for it myself for you but I'm quickly typing at work whilst expressing...
It didn't work for me either unfortunately. Would love to know the answer because I had horrible pain breastfeeding last time and hope to avoid it this time
The only thing that worked for my vasospasm was blood pressure medication. I was prescribed Nefedipine and it worked a treat. Huge relief within 24 hours and cured within the week. I weaned off it after a few months for memory and never experienced any issues again. I breastfed DD until 2 weeks before her first birthday.
