Sad Mummy Moment :(

DS always has boob to go to bed. Tonight, he took to the boob but was getting distracted easily. Gave him a break, switched sides, but it didn't make much of a difference.

Then he pointed to his cup which he'd had milk from earlier today Gave him a bottle with 160ml milk (he normally drinks no more than 100ml) and then he was content to have cuddles and fall asleep.

Is he starting to wean?

I'm not really qualified to answer but I wanted to give you a hug I cried the first time ds had water from his sippy cup when he was 6 months old! I imagine it would be a sad say when he wants a cup instead of boobie I noticed you are pregnant, were you wanting to tandem feed? I believe that some babies self wean when you are expecting again so you might need to get your head around it if he keeps looking for a cup. (sorry if I've upset you) but just wanted to help prepare you I guess incase that does happen

He wanted boob all day and again tonight. But then after a while he pointed to his cup again and had that before settling...

I don't really want to wean him yet, but if he chooses to then so be it, albeit a sad mummy I think making it to 13 months with him, and 24 weeks pregnant is a fair achievement in itself

HUGE achievement!!! FWIW DD went through a phase like that at a similar age and then cam e back to boob. Hang in there, UA all you can do is offer and leave it up to DS decision.

You are doing awesome! Better than me - X refused the boob as soon as I fell pregnant, that was my trigger to think I might be. I know how you are feeling and seriously, you have done the very very best thing by P. I can't wait to breastfeed the new baby

Thanks hun He's had boob 3 times today, and crashed out in the car before we got home tonight. But he is still asking for it so I'm happy to give it to him. Although when I know he has drained them and still wants it it is hard.
I'm thinking maybe he just isn't getting enough at night to 'fulfil' his need and settle him, and that's why he's asking for a bottle after trying the boob...

You could try he supply boost things........fenugreek, thistle tea, activite, cookies etc. But I think the best thing for me was just lots and lots of water.
