Tea tree oil & breast feeding

I grabbed a new deodorant the other day and it's tea tree based. Is this a problem when breast feeding? Going up ring ABA when I have a quiet moment but with these boys quiet time is far and few between

The ABA may not know. Ring these people:
Drug information centre - Southern Health

    'cause they will!

I hope not, I used that one or one similar as it isn't aluminium based, all through BF my DD and still use it - I would suspect it is fine as long as bubs doesn't ingest it.

Thanks ladies, I gave call a health line here in QLD and they put me through to a pharmacist who basically said that there isn't enough information to say if it is safe but there is information to advise to avoid it when pregnant or breastfeeding. It should be safe as the baby does not come in direct contact but again there is nothing to say that.

So this amazing deodorant that really works for me will have to go in the cupboard until I am no longer feeding.

Or for a little while anyway. The dose per unit baby gets smaller very rapidly as the baby grows and the milk intake stays similar!

I would actually call the Vic helpline as well - a hell of a lot of the warnings on medicines are much more bottom-covering than sensible.
