OK so i have spent about 9 to 10 weeks stresing that my supply might drop off and then today at the pead check up i get told to maybe cut a feed out as ds is gaining too quickly, i didnt think you could over feed a bf bubs?
so at 11 weeks he weighs 6.5kg
at 8 weeks 5.65kg
i do feed him when he wakes then again to sleep or whenever he may want it inbetween
i thought bfing would be something i would struggle with or not enjoy but 'know it to be best'
but i LOVE IT and cant bear the thought not to feed to sleep
Why would any right thinking Health Professional say anything to a mum in your position other than "That's fabulous - you are doing a great job" Unless it was to say "You must be so proud of yourself" and "Keep up the good work"
Can't help betting this same person would also be on the case of a mum whose baby was only gaining smaller amounts - saying "he needs more"
You are doing a beautiful job. You are right - you can't over feed him. But, stop stressing that your milk will drop off - it can't happen. You feed - you make milk - pretty much all there is to it
Aww hun don't double guess yourself, sounds like you are doing a fantabulous job!!! Barb is spot on - keep on doing what you are doing and trust that your body and baby know best.
Sounds to me like you and DS are doing a fantastic job! He knows what he needs so I would follow him. What a ridiculous thing for a paed to say, I really hope you will trust your breastfeeding relationship
